Unheard is a music series that explores listening, curiosity, and spontaneity through collaborative improvisation. An artist-in-residence leads three in-the-round performances throughout the year featuring rotating groups of multi-instrumentalists.
For her second edition, Kalia Vandever invites the rising talent currently making waves in the jazz program at Manhattan School of Music, Emmanuel Michael, and on drums, the endlessly creative, DIY powerhouse, Mikel Patrick Avery
Breathy electronics, virtuosic guitar licks, and a cracking backbeat may be on our collective horizons. But to be honest, our guess is as good as yours.
Unheard will be held in a private loft in Greenpoint featuring a vintage 4-point Klipsch sound system and comfortable seating arrangements.
