Unheard is a music series that explores listening, curiosity, and spontaneity through collaborative improvisation. An artist-in-residence leads three in-the-round performances throughout the year featuring rotating groups of multi-instrumentalists.
For our second installment with Spencer Zahn, he invites Mauro Refosco and Will Shore, two pioneering instrumentalists who have worked with the likes of David Byrne, Thom Yorke, and Butch Morris, and draw influence from Brazilian Forró to Francis Bebey, Don Cherry, and Ricardo Villalobos.
Spencer has described the trio as “melodic percussion meets lush electronics” with Shore on vibraphone and electronics, Refosco on percussion, and Zahn on bass and keys.

Unheard will be held in a private loft in Greenpoint featuring a vintage 4-point Klipsch sound system and comfortable seating arrangements.
